Koi Pond for the iPhone

I got a little bored the other day and was messing around on the iPhone and Web App’s.  I found a review on Koi Pond.  While it is not free and doesn’t do much, it is still a pretty cool app. You can shake the iPhone or iPod Touch and that will feed the fish.  You can also run your finger across the pond and it makes a pretty realistic ripple effect.  And just like real fish, they run off!

All and all, pretty fuckin’ cool! Click the image to download the app through iTunes.

More on Adobe CS4

I recieved an email yesterday from adobe.  The image above was all that was in it.  It is announceing the release of Adobe CS 4!!!!!  I of course I have been waiting for this a couple of weeks since I heard to rumors about it.  I was planning on upgrading to CS3 but this put the breaks on it.

When you click the BE THERE > in the email, it takes you a registration site when you can sign up for a time to view the webcast about CS4.

What I find really interesting is the new CS4 logo if you will.  You can see it in the image above on the bottom right.  You can get a better shot of it clicking through to the registration page.

Seinfeld and Gates Second Microsoft Commercial

Yeah, yeah, I said it, Microsoft.  If you have been living in a cave.  Yopu probably wouldn’t know that Microsoft paid Jerry Seinfeld $10 million to do some commercials for them.  I recently saw the first one about Gates tring to pick out some shoes at a discount shoe place in a mall and Seinfeld is walking him through it.

Not until the very last couple of seconds does it even get CLOSE to being relevant to microsfots business.  Seinfeld ask someing about computers in the future and ask Gates to cofirm it by shaking his ass.  That is something Gates should NEVER do again!

The second commerical aired last night and was over 4:30 long!  What the hell kind of comercial is that?!?!?!  I just watched on YouTube.  It’s the same thing, doesn’t make much sense!  I am not even going to get deep into to it.  Search for it on YouTube or Microsoft.

"Let's Rock" Event Grade … C-

I give yesterdays Apple “Let’s Rock Event a C-.  The predictions that it would be a lackluster event where very true.  While I am def excited about the things mentioned, I really think that the event was over hyped.  New iPods, great.  New iTunes, Great.  NBC back on iTunes, Great. All really exciting stuff, but where was the “One More Thing”????

I  was of course, really hoping to see something announced about speed bumps on the notebook line, expecially the MBA!!!  I guess I will have to wait even longer!! :(

Silicon Apartment

Running around the blogs again today, I came across a great technology/apple/microsoft cartoon that is pretty dam funny!  I have always loved the Joy of tech over at the Geek Culture.  And this new one that I found, The Silicon Apartment is very similar.  Hell, at times they look too similar!

I would def recommend adding this one to the bookmarks!  But be warned, there is language in use.  Don’t take my word for it, listen to Walt!

Back Home and WTF!!1

So Renee and I got home pretty late last night from Copper Harbor Michigan. We finially got in the door around 12:15 last night. So it is safe to say that we are pretty tired. I’ll post more about the trip and the b-day celebration later…

So, doing my usual morning rounds on twitter and facebook to see whats going on, I notice I have a new updated on facebook.  Turns out Obama wants me to submit ideas for a campaign strategy… Are you kiding me?!?!  Is he all out of ideas or something?  Or is this just something to get people interested and interact with the campaign?  I would have to say the latter.  Interesting idea, check out the new site they put up for people to submit those ideas, ohboyobama.com.

Damnit Leander, Check Your Sources!!1

So I could not sleep to well last night. So I got up and decided to make the early morning rounds on the apple blogosphere.  Top article on the CultOfMac blog, “Leaked Ad of MacBook Pro Actually a Mockup“.

When I read that of course I miss the Mockup part because I want to jump right into the article and get the jucie details. So of course I missed that when I started to read.  I was getting pretty excited over here.  If the MacBook Pro gets a bump and re-design soon, the MacBook Air has to follow sometime soon!

It’s not that I don’t care about the MBP, but I really want an MBA!  So andy new news on the Apple ntebook front should always be good right?!

Well, at the end of Leander’s article, he quickly mentiones that that this “ad” is of course a fake and from the MacRumors forums.  Way to give a mans hopes up Leander!  Maybe you should do a little bit more research before posting fakes as real huh?!

Biden as VP

So around 8pm last night I was flipping through channels trying to find something to watch.  Every now and then I would check in on CNN to see if anything was announced or when we might be expecting the vp announcement.

Of course I signed up for the announcement to be texted to me as I wante dto be one of the first to know. So flipping through CNN last night, they had the lower third menitoning that they are expecting the VP announcement any minute now.

Checked back in with CNN for an update to see when it might be announcemend around 9pm…. nothing.  So we watched a movie and I forgot about it and did not get my text message.

So, woke up this morning and checked the phone and saw that Biden was announced as the VP… at 3:04AM!!!!

Man, it must have SUCKED to sit up all night waiting for this to be announced.  I am quite sure every 30 minutes CNN would say “stick with us, we are expecting it any minute….”

New Dell Mini

Why on earth am I posting about a dell computer you may be asking yourself.  While I totally hate windows and everything it stands for, I still love a good computer design.

When I had to get a new computer for work, I asked for the smallest, lightest notebook I could find.  And I found the dell D420.  Not only is it a wide screen notebook, (yeah, only 12.2″) but it wieghs just 3lbs.  And no it doesn’t have a CD-Rom of any kind.  But honestly, I have had this thing for over two years now and never, EVER have I been out on the road and needed my CD-ROM drive.  I do have a huge brick back at the office that pretends to be a CD-ROM, so that is where I install things from a CD, back at the office.

SO…. Doing some blog reading, over at engadget, I found out about Dells new “Mini-Inspiron” and MAN, it’s kinda sexy!  But again, it is running windows.  I wonder what the spec’s are, none are mentioned over at the engadget post, can it compare to the MBA????

Apple doin' Good… Great

You may be asking yourself, “Why does he have a picture of Michael Dell in this post when the title has Apple in it?”.

Well, I am glad you asked that.  I was reading over at MacRumors that Apple’s net worth is up to over 157 Billion Dollars.  That great, wonderful, I am happy for them.  Want to see how they compare to other companies?  Click the image and it’ll take you to the MacRumors article.

So, here is where we get to the Michael Dell part and why the photo is there…. In the same posting about Apple’s net worth, there is a great comment by Michael Dell in 1997 when asked about what he would do to fix the then money-losing Apple:

“What would I do? I’d shut [Apple] down and give the money back to the shareholders,” Michael Dell said before a crowd of several thousand IT executives.

FUCKING AWESOME!!!  That is why Apple is worth $100 billions dollars more then dell at the moment. and taking a quick look at the two companies closing stocks prices…

Apple (APPL) – $179.30

Dell (DELL) – $25.13
