Recovering nicely… So far

So I got my wisdom teeth pulled out at 7:30am this morning. So far, I am doing pretty well. The only things I can’t do as normal is eat whatever I want and talk. So afterwe got back this morning, I got a chance to work on my iTunes and watch a movie or two. I did try to eat some chicken soup with noodles. Noosles did’t work so well, but it helped.
So Finially I laid down to listen to some john Grisham and rest. Got a nice little nap in there too! So I woke up around 2ish and sent out some quick emails for work. Then I made the mistake of looking at the weather on my iPhone. I am missing out on a great day here in dc! But if I have sacrifies one good day to have the rest of my life withbout tooth pain, I’ll take it!

That's what I am talkin about!1!

I saw this beauty over at TUAW.  Taslk about getting a kid started early on computers.  There is a Mini Mac Addict on our hands here!  A cub scout made a pine wood durby car into an iphone like car COMPLETE with ear buds!!!  How awesome is that!

TUAw found this over on flickr. Side note…. Are those guys over aat TUAW that border that they have time to search flickr and other sites for things apple????  I want a job over there!

Back to topic: The complete flickr set includes some other neat designs and close ups.  But what REALLY gets me is the trophies….  They painted and mounted apple mighty mice!!  You have to check it out here!

Back to School 2008

Over the vacation Upstate, I completed another project for Barbizon.  This is one of my favorite projects doing the Back to school emailer.  It’s not that I have complete control over it, but I am able to get a little more creative with it.

This is just the beginning of the creative indevers for the next year.  Basically this design announcens what everyone knows, that school starts back up soon and that Barbizon is here and ready to help get you ready.

Click the image for the full size.  I think it turned out really good and all the national team likes it!

Live Free Project Update

Awhile ago, I wanted to start a ne project called Live Free.  Basically, I wanted to see about running a computer completely free.  Meaning, open source, and free software.  I want to see if some one can truely run a basic computer with out any cost otehr then that of a low end computer.

Well, this project is on hold at the moment. The computer that I was planning on using has been given a new home.  I hope that she likes her new owner and lives the rest of her life running cool and happy.  I wish her well and will miss her.

So with out a computer to use, I can’t procede with this project right now.  But I have been doing some thinking about how to start it back up later. Maybe use parallels on my new mac to try it there!  That way it’s all on one computer!!!  I’ll keep you posted.

Fake Steve is Dead and Reborn

The Fake Steve Jobs is dead.  it is a sad day in technology writing.  I followed his blog and always loved it.  Everyone knew who the Real Fake Steve Jobs was, Dan Lyons.  He is a technology writter for Newsweek.  He has stopped writting the Fake Steve for some reason.  But he has been reborn as the Real Dan Lyons.

He still has that special something that I like about his writting.  His plan was to take the summer off, but the big wigs out in Silicon Valley brought him back early.  You can check out his new blog at www.realdanlyons.com. If I were you, I would highly recommend reading it.  It is HOLARIOUS!

Beauty in lighting

I took this awhile ago on my iPhone. It’s a photo of a Congo jr. That I sold and then was contracted to run. This was taken during level check. I thought it was pretty good!

Where have you been??!

So you have have been wondering, “where is Justin?”. Well, I have been on vacation in Upstate New York. Visiting and helping Renee’s mom with things around the house and of course, trying to take money from the indians at the casino. Today has to be the best day up here. The wind is blowing from the west and the temperature is about 71. You can bearly make out Toranto across the lake, but it there. There are some nice sail boats about a mile of the shore just messing around. MAN, that would be nice!

The vacation raps up heere shortly, but it has been worth it.  Getting out the NOVA is always a good thing.  Just so you think I have been relaxing to hard, I have some things to start up after I get back.  One of them is pretty cool idea I think.  So keep up!

National Party Conventions Sale Ad

I just completed another email marketing piece for Barbizon. It began life as something TOTALLY different. I would show where we started off, but with this one, I want to just high light the end project. Lets just say there were 8 proofs needed on this one and they were NOT minor changes either!

This seems to be the standard that we have been using for a while now.  I have always liked the rounded coreners on the border.  But what really stands out on this one is the gradient on the waving US flag.  VERY PATRIOTIC!

Amazing enough, what gave me the most problems was the star witht the free lamp offer.  But tweaking it some in places made it all finaly work.  Make sure to click through the image to see the full size emailer!

It's Finally GONE!!!

The powerbook is gone, THANK GOD!  It has found a new loving home with a gentleman from DC.  I will leave it at that.  2 macs down, 2 to go!

Here I am again

Here I am again trying to meet up with some one to sell the powerbook.  This time we are meeting in Starbucks at Pentagon City.  Only a couple of minutes late… We’ll see what happens! ;)
